Named after the Glaoui tribe that once ruled
southern Morocco, these rugs reflect the rich
history of the Trans-Saharan trade routes. Glaoui
rugs are distinctive for combining three weaving
techniques in a single piece: flatweave sections,
hand-knotted areas, and black-and-white Zanafi
bands that tuft out from the sides.
