Michael Aul was born on December 21, 1980 in Dover, Ohio, where he began hunting and fishing with his father while learning about ancient civilizations with his mother. Both encouraged the development of his creativity from a young age, catalyzing his exploration of imagination and expanding a strong sense of how he thought the world worked.

His paintings are meant to project a time when humankind was overflowing with the power of the spirit, powerful beyond modernity’s comprehension.

His objective is to realize a vision of painting that is completely unhindered by conventional techniques and the fear of failure— paintings that challenge the viewer to imagine what is possible when our hearts and minds are strong and our consciousness is as vast as the cosmos.
