Alexis Pavlantos grew up in the mineral heartlands of Tijeras, New Mexico, immersed in jewelry and gemology from a young age. She obtained her BFA in sculpture from the University of New Mexico before moving to the Bay Area to pursue a career in the arts.
Now located in Albuquerque, NM, Alexis draws inspiration from forms found in nature, hand-carving each piece in wax before casting in metal. Her jewelry interacts as an extension of the body, visualizing how nature as not something we set out to find, but is something we are apart of.
She recycles every material she can—from wax to metal—and works with beautifully reclaimed stones.
